At Sunrise Animal Hospital, you can expect our full attention to you and your pet’s health needs with love, care and quality medicine.
When you arrive for your appointment, you will be greeted by one of our friendly reception staff who will check you into our database and weigh your pet. When the veterinarian is ready to see you and your pet, you will be escorted to an exam room.
Our veterinarian will start by asking about your pet’s medical history, current condition and the reason for your visit. Your pet will then be examined. Depending on the situation, the doctor may recommend diagnostic tests if needed. Once the tests have been run, which can usually be done within our practice, your doctor will discuss a possible diagnosis and treatment plan if warranted.
Our veterinary team would like to make sure that you are completely comfortable with the information we are providing and will work together with you to ensure your pet remains healthy and happy. For this reason, we encourage any and all questions you may have concerning the treatment of your pet.
When you have finished your appointment, our front reception staff will explain any medications that the doctors may have prescribed to your pet and will process your payment and schedule any needed follow-up appointments.
Please note: Our goal is to see all our clients and patients on time, however, in the case of emergencies there will be times where the unexpected will create delays. We will ensure these are minimized as much as possible.
We are excited to meet you and your pets!

Dr. Wilson has two cats, Sebastian (a.k.a. Stinks) and Abby. Her professional interests include surgery and she has completed a course in cranial cruciate repair.
I graduated from Ontario Veterinary College in 1985 and began working at the clinic in 1987. My area of interest in veterinary medicine is in surgery. My first pet was Susie, a Siamese cat. My favourite part of my job is caring for people and pets. My favourite thing about the clinic is always improving and evolving for the better. A fun fact about me is that I love windsurfing and have three daughters.
I am a 1995 graduate of the Atlantic Veterinary College. I started working at Sunrise Animal Hospital on January 2, 2013. An area of interest for me in veterinary medicine is dermatology. My first pet was Jake, a female orange tabby. What I love most about my job is educating clients, I especially enjoy new puppy and kitten visits.
I am a self-proclaimed crazy cat lady and love all things cat! However, my veterinary journey began while working with a chronically ill horse. Working with her sparked my interest in veterinary medicine, and it wasn't long before I found myself at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College for pre-veterinary studies.
A few years later, I was accepted into a DVM program, and I graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College, UPEI, in May 2018. I am looking forward to working with our Sunrise clients and all of their beloved pets! I have worked at Sunrise Animal Hospital on and off since 2010, starting out in reception, moving into treatment, and then doing technician work during my off time in veterinary school. Now I have come full circle and started working here as a veterinarian in July 2018!
