I graduated from Northern College in 2012. Immediately following school, I pursued my registered status and became an RVT. I have been working at Chicopee Hills Animal Hospital for 5+ years now and am proud of the professionalism and excellence we are committed to providing our patients and clients.

I enjoy the many facets of my job and the caring group of women I have the pleasure of working with.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, husband and our three rescue pets; Hudson (tabby cat), Geller (brittany spaniel X) and Rory (dalmatian).

Registered Veterinary Technician

I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Wilfrid Laurier in 2013. After a few years of working in environmental conservation, I decided to return to school to pursue my childhood dream of working in the veterinary field. I joined the Chicopee Hills Animal Hospital team in the spring of 2018 after graduating from Georgian College’s Veterinary Technician program, and wrote the Veterinary Technician Nation Exam that summer to gain my registered status.

When I’m not working, I love to spend time outdoors. I volunteer for a dog rescue organization called Save Me Dog Rescue, and have fostered numerous dogs over the past few years. My partner and I share our home with our furry family members Darwin (a 7 year old Holland lop rabbit) and Peluche (a rescue cocker spaniel cross).

Anne
Receptionist and Office Manager

Hi, I’m Anne and I have been receptionist/office manager at Chicopee Hills Animal Hospital since its opening in 1997.

I have worked in the veterinary field all my adult life. I especially enjoy interacting with our clients and their beloved pets, sharing in the amazing human/animal bond between them.

My own dogs are whippets (look like small greyhounds) and I am enthusiastic about participating in various sports with them. I am, or have been, involved in flyball, agility, obedience and conformation showing. My favourite is a sport called Lure Coursing which tests the speed, endurance and agility of sighthound type dogs. I travel all over Ontario and the United States to race my whippets in these meets.

Since whippets have little body fat or hair, they need warm winter coats. I started sewing coats for my own dogs, then had many requests from friends. This has exploded into a mini business and I spend my winter evenings and weekends sewing coats for whippets all over North America. I also sew all the dog bandanas on display at our reception desk, as well as other items of dog apparel.

I look forward to seeing you and hearing about the passion you have for your pets.

Brenda
Receptionist

I currently live with my husband John in Waterloo but have lived in the Cambridge
area for most of my life. I previously owned a small hobby farm in Branchton
and have enjoyed many different pets including a pot-bellied pig named Teddy.

My passion is horses. I have ridden and shown them successfully for 50 years. As
well as being a competitor, I am also a carded judge and travel most of Ontario from Sarnia to Sault Saint Marie to judge shows. I currently own and show my quarterhorse gelding, Sheik’s What’s Hot who came from Tennessee and never disappoints in the show ring.

I have two grown daughters, Tracy and Becky, who have inherited my love for horses. They have also been involved in competing and have been since they were two years old. We have gathered so many wonderful memories over the years travelling and competing together. They have also given me three special grandsons, Liam, Cooper, and Ciaran and one grandaughter, Kailey who keep me entertained constantly.

John and I share our home with and love our crazy Jack Russell Terrier Floyd Beanz.

Maggie
Receptionist

Right from toddlerhood I had a strong affinity for animals of all shapes and sizes and have always wanted to work with animals. Needless to say, I was thrilled to start as a part-time kennel attendant and Saturday receptionist at Chicopee Hills Animal Hospital in November 1998. I soon became a full time receptionist. The amazing staff at Chicopee Hills Animal Hospital have become a family to me and I love working with people that share my admiration of the human-animal bond, are passionate about the health and wellbeing of all animals and witnessing the kindness and dedication of our wonderful clients toward their fur babies.

I live in Kitchener with my family both furry and human. I’ve always been owned by huskies and cats but have also had birds, parrots, rabbits, turtles and fish in my life.

When my brood isn’t keeping me busy, I enjoy attending sporting events, playing softball, biking, portaging/canoeing, camping, skiing, skating or just playing in the snow. Basically any outdoor activity is a go. My family leads an active lifestyle so our dogs are always high-energy and ready for an adventure!

Nicole
Receptionist

I joined the Chicopee Hills Animal Hospital team in spring of 2018 after working in local animal shelters and other veterinary clinics. The experience I have gained thus far has only increased my love of all animals and passion for helping clients with their pets.

I have a keen interest in canine behaviour modification using positive reinforcement methods. I am also interested in wildlife rehabilitation and hope to eventually take the exam to become a licensed rehabilitator.

When I am not at work, I can be found hanging out with my three Eastern Box Turtles; Turt and the Turtlets. If I am not with my reptiles, I can usually be found at the dog park with my Shepherd Corgi mix named Foxy.

Linda
Assistant to RVT

I grew up in Northern Ontario, where I learned to love the wilderness and all it has to offer. This is where my love for animals began.
I graduated from the Animal Care Program at Sheridan College in 1989. Since then my career has allowed me to work in a variety of environments where I’ve had the privilege to work with species of all kinds. I’ve worked in both small and large animal clinics, and clinics that dealt with exotics and wildlife. I was on the Board of Directors as Fundraising Chair for over ten years at a wildlife center up North. I was also one of the rehabilitators there and loved every minute of it.
My past animal family has included horses, dogs, cats, turtles, rabbits and birds of all kinds. I even had a pet turkey named Fernando who loved car rides.
My current animal family includes my whippet (Miles), 2 cats, a canary, a lovebird, 6 cockatiels and my parrot Lolly who has owned me for 30 years.

Jocelyn
Assistant to RVT

I first realized my passion for animals when I adopted and fell in love with my rescue cat, Claira. I quickly decided I wanted to spend as much time around animals as possible. I started volunteering at the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society, and soon after that I applied to Ridgetown College for the Veterinary Technology program.
I joined Chicopee Hills Animal Hospital in August of 2016 and I am loving every minute of it! I’m so grateful to be learning from such a talented and compassionate group of women, while I continue to work towards my Veterinary Technology diploma.
When I’m not working or studying, I enjoy doing crafts, spending time outdoors, and taking part in yoga and dance classes.
